Dhaka City

Bahadur Shah Park this memorial commemorates the martyrs of the first liberation war (1857-59) against British rule. It was here that the revolting soppys and their civil compatriots were publicly hanged.

Bangabandhu Memorial Museum the residence of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujbur Rahman in Dhanmondi Residential Area has been turned in to a museum. It contains rare collection of personal effects and photographs of the Father of the Nation.

Botanical Garden


Botanical Garden It is built on an area of 205 acres of land at Mirpur, just east of the Mirpur Zoo. It provides botanical education and research, preservation of plants and some recreational facilities. It is worth a visit.

Lalbagh Fort


Lalbagh Fort the Fort of Aurangabad, popularly known as the Lalbagh fort, was built in 1678 A.D. by Prince Mohammad Azam, son of Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb Who was the Viceroy of Bengal.

Naryanganj


Naryanganj located 16 km. away from Dhaka on the bank of river Sitalakhya it is regarded as the Dandee of Banngladesh and the biggest inland river port of Bangladesh. 

National Assembly


National Assembly Complex in Sher-E-Bangla Nagar designed by the famous architect Luis I Kahn has distinctive architectural features. 

National Memorial


National Memorial located at Savar in the suburb of Dhaka City. This memorial commemorates the martyrs of the war of independence of 1971. Jahangir Nagar University and its sprawling campus is also located nearby.

National Museum


National Museum housed in an impressive building the Museum contains a large number of interesting exhibits including sculpture, coins, paintings and inscriptions. 

National Park


National Park is situated at Rajendrapur 40 km. north of Dhaka, within Gazipur Police Station area in the magnificent Bhawal region on Dhaka Mymensingh Highway. This is a vast (1,600 acres) expanse of forest recreational and is ideal for eco-tourism pursuits.

National Poet's Graveyard


National Poet's Graveyard rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam died on 29 August 1976 and was buried adjacent to the Dhaka University Central Mosque.

Ramna Green Park is a vast stretch of green ground surrounded by a serpentine lake where different national functions are held.

Shahid Minar

Sonargaon


Sonargaon located about 29 km. away from Dhaka, it is one of the oldest capital of Bengal. It was the seat of Deva dynasty until the 13th century. From this period onward till the time of the advent of Mughals, Sonargaon was a subsidiary Capital of the Sultanate of Bengal. 

Suhrawardy Uddan (Garden)


Suhrawardy Uddan (Garden) formerly known as the Race Course, is a popular park of the city. From this Uddyan the clarion call for independence of Bangladesh was given by Father of Nation Bangabandhhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 7 March 1971, and curiously enough it is again here that the commander of the Pakistan occupation forces surrendered on 16 December 1971.

Zoological Garden


Zoological Garden called Mirpur Zoo, is situated at Mirpur, 10 km. north west of Dhaka on 230 acres of land contains some interesting and rare inmates.
