Sitakunda is one of the most famous
place of pilgrimage of the Hindu
community, 40 km. North-West off
Chittagong. It draws Hindu devotees from
all over the subcontinent particularly
during the observance of Shiva
Choturdoshhi. This place is named
Sitakunda after the name of the Goddess
Sita. There are many religious places in
Sitakunda and surrounding of it. Tens of
thousands of Hindu pilgrims of all ages
come to Sitkunda during the fair every
year.

Tomb of Sultan Bayazid Bostami
situated on a hillock in Nasirabad, about
6 km. to the north-west of Chittagong
town, this shrine attracts a large number
of visitors and pilgrims. At its base is a
large tank with several hundred tortoises.
Tradition has it that these animals are
the descendants of the evil spirits
(genii) who were cast into this shape
because they incurred the wrath of the
great saint who visited the place about,
1100 years ago.
